Inland Empire Chapter of AACN

Howdy from Houston!

Posted over 8 years ago by Nicholas McGowan

Hey folks! So I'm here in Houston sitting in my hotel room, which oddly enough is #911. I was wearing my Rapid Response Shirt during check-in and apparently the concierge was feeling facetious. He was also wearing a Romper... so there's that. But suffice it to say, the local folks here in Houston have been suspiciously friendly. Which is both unsettling and refreshing at the same time. Kind of like when the unit is extra quiet? You're pleasantly surprised but you just can't let your guard down. Yet from my Uber driver, to the restaurant servers to the local folks walking around downtown, I have really come to enjoy the genuine and hospitable vibe that Houston puts out. The weather is a different story though. Now, let's talk about NTI. WOW! The experience so far has been incredible. Don't believe me? Check this out: LINK.

Now for some announcements:

1. Our next board meeting is on June 1st at the Sycamore Inn. Currently, and for the first time ever, the reservations are full. We do have a waitlist started so if you're interested in going and you are active on your dues and membership, be sure to add your name to the waitlist. Remember, in order to be fair to all, priority will be given to active members who are current with their dues. And just a reminder, the fee for meetings held at restaurants is $10.00.

2. Please join the AACN – IE Chapter in expressing our most sincere gratitude to Laura Reese and Michelle Wilson for their collaboration as Board Officers and leaders for the past few years. We wish them much success as they move forward with new challenges in their careers.

3. It's that time again. We have a few board positions opening up for the new 2017-2018 year. So start thinking about how you can participate in the fastest growing Chapter in the Region. I will be sending a separate memo with the details.

See you all on June 1st!
