**DEADLINE APPROACHING*** 2018-2019 Board Member Elections are open!

Greetings colleagues.

It's that time of year where you have the unique opportunity to join the AACN IE Chapter Board of Directors. Attached you will find a list of job descriptions where we have available openings for each position. I encourage you to read through each job description and consider where you feel you can provide the greatest value based upon your skillset and experience. I realize that the number one question/concern is time commitment and I can relate to that wholeheartedly! Traditionally, I have asked prospective board members to just contribute “when and where they can” but that has left me with a very thin team of poorly committed members and chapter outcomes have suffered greatly. This fiscal year, which starts July 1st, we will be working towards a fully functioning and engaged Chapter which will include Community Outreach projects, CCRN Review courses, and an Annual Symposium. I watched several of our neighboring chapters receive Circle of Excellence awards at NTI this year and I truly believe we have the capability to earn the same throughout this next year. But we can’t do it alone! So if you see any value and potential for this Chapter and are interested in joining us on this journey where perhaps a commitment of at least 5-10 hours a month (which includes monthly dinner meetings and board meetings either in-person or via web chat) will be asked, then please let me know. I assure you the benefits will be worth every minute of your time!

Should you find a position that you feel you would be best suited for, OR if you would like to nominate a colleague, kindly submit (via email to nmcgowan80@gmail.com) a short paragraph detailing:

1. Your/nominee current job/role,
2. Nursing + any other pertinent experience
3. What you feel you/nominee can contribute to this Chapter
4. Submissions are due by June 22, 2018.

Once all submissions are received, a ballot will be created (via survey monkey) and we will start the voting process and elections will be made by June 30th. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to another exciting year with you all!
